Paynesville Boatyard

About Paynesville Boatyard

Conveniently located on prime water frontage at Paynesville, which is renown as the leisure boating capital of the Gippsland Lakes, the facility provides vessel owners with a major boat launching and retrieval facility, consisting of a 120 tonne slipway and a 40 tonne vessel lift.

To complement this service, the boatyard also has the most comprehensive boat maintenance and repair facilities in the region. Well fitted out workshops enable the highly skilled staff to undertake most types of boat repairs and service. The commitment to the environment was recognised in 2003 by being the recipient of the Victorian Coastal Award for Excellence for the innovative waste management program. This has since been enhanced with the installation during 2008 of a state of the art waste treatment plant that was successful in achieving the Victorian Marine Industry Environmental Award 2008.

On site expert staff includes fully qualified shipwrights, fitters, welders, travel lift operators and painters. Alternatively customers may provide their own labour or contractors under certain conditions for work on boats in cradles or fit-out berths.

All Boatyard activities meet the requirements of the OH&S Act 2006, whilst contractors and owners working on site are also required to comply with these standards.

A wide range of specialist boating equipment and service providers are located within Paynesville’s marine precinct within 400 metres of the boatyard.
